Meet our Ambassadors

Mirela Tanc is a globally known and recognized teacher. Her work in education has brought her numerous awards and distinctions: Knight of the Order of Merit for Education (by presidential decree); Global Teacher Prize 2021 top 50; Let's Do It Ambassador; Global Ambassador Teach SDGs; Out of Eden Learn-Harvard-Educator; Climate Action Project Country Ambassador; Climate Reality Leader. This year, I will continue to learn with my students about how to think about the future, in order to meet the major challenges we face in the fight against climate change. Shared knowledge will give us the tools to deal with uncertainty, eco-anxiety, the speed at which changes in society and the international order are occurring, and to come up with responses to the global crisis of climate change. To achieve these results, I commit myself as a person and as a teacher to continue studying and learning from what science, technology, experience and our society teach us in order to reverse climate change and achieve a sustainable model of life in peace with nature.

Il nostro pianeta è bellissimo e unico e come tale va preservato, è fondamentale rendersi conto di quanto le nostre abitudini e i nostri stili di vita siano diventati insostenibili. L'obiettivo che mi pongo è quello di parlare ad associazioni e scuole per poter dare una corretta informazione su quali sono i rischi a cui andiamo incontro e allo stesso tempo esporre utili esempi pratici su quello come possiamo fare dal basso per ridurre le nostre emissioni.

Former Research Director of the National Research Council (CNR), Head of the Secondary Section and Senior Associate Researcher at the Water Research Institute (IRSA-CNR) of Brugherio (MB), for around 40 years he has been involved in studies on the climate of glacial areas and high and low altitude alpine lakes, of circulation of pollutants in lakes and rivers and for about thirty years of acid rain. From 1989 to 2015 he participated in the construction and management of networks of meteorological monitoring stations in the Himalayas and Karakorum and for over two decades he has dedicated himself to the creation of databases of river and lake water bodies. Since December 2020 he has been Ambassador of the European Climate Pact, and was recently the founder of the EuCliPa.IT APS Association, of which he is currently the secretary. He is the author of over 190 publications, 100 of which in international journals, and conducts editorial review of scientific articles.

As an Ambassador of EU Green Deal, I am focusing on policies adapted to small urban areas. Specifically, I will dedicate my work to assessing carbon sinks, protecting forests and their biodiversity, promoting mountain communities and developing remote areas. Also, sustainable mobility, clean energy generation and awareness raising are amongst my immediate interests.

I regularly post information, share educational platforms and engage with other like minded people to generate awareness. Last year, I had a son and I realised that I want him to be able to enjoy a healthy, inclusive planet that has equal opportunities for all. I want to engage companies and individuals on creating a better future together.

As an Ambassador, I am deeply committed to catalysing and pollinating impactful change in the fight against fossil fueled climate change. My mission is to set an inspiring example by transitioning my historic-designated home to solar energy, doubling my fossil-fuel-free kilometers through cargo biking, advocating for community solar and improved cycling infrastructure in Luxembourg, and supporting sustainable agriculture. I aim to promote sustainable practices, policy advocacy, and community engagement to create a greener, more resilient future for all. Together, we can tackle the pressing climate challenges of our time.

We need to all understand the issues that humanity is facing climate-wise as well as the actions that are required in order to respect the global mitigation goal established during COP21: not exceeding +2ºC vs pre-industrial era. The transition towards a sustainable world will be possible only if it is just, that is to say if all social categories of the population are included in the transition. Ateliere Fara Frontiere’s activities are offering solutions with its circular and social activities, and my objective is to raise awareness to the highest number about our solutions on how individuals and companies can reduce their carbon footprint and have more sustainable behaviors. 

People, Planet, Prosperity and Purpose. The year is 2021. As humanity we've created a situation where none of these quadruple bottom-line impacts are addressed holistically, across either the environmental or social dimensions. The only way to counteract this trend is through positive community action and education. We need a global mindset for these global problems, that our generation now must address. Happy to share my knowledge and support those wanting to make a positive impact.

I am a professional footballer for Genoa C.F.C. and the Norwegian National Team. I'm also the creator and founder of We Play Green (2020), a player movement made to speed up the Green Shift.

The Green Shift is possible and urgently needed, but it is short on public support. I firmly believe that football can help save the planet and mankind since it is the world's largest social phenomenon, and football players are the world's most influential people.

Therefore, with my organisation, I aim to create a movement that mobilises the 5 billion-strong football family, from grassroots to players, clubs to communities, businesses to institutions, and decision-makers. Together, we can be on the winning side of the most important game on the planet - making the Green Shift happen.

I am a French-Spanish sustainability consultant and RSE leader. As an Ambassador, my planned activities revolve around engaging with a young audience through social media posts, presentations, and the creation of a MOOC, with a specific focus on raising awareness about the impact of dietary choices on climate change. My aim is to inspire and educate the next generation to make more sustainable dietary decisions, ultimately contributing to a greener and more environmentally responsible future.

I am co-founder of Safe Playgroinds Association. My aim is to help provide a better environment for play and sport. I additionally with to promote outdoor learning, active citizenship and to motivate human connections with the nature. I am planning to participate in family events and to show how to turn waste into value through games and interactive activities. I believe that environmental education should start from a very early age and it is our own responsibility to educate conscious and active people. I am taking part in many schools projects, raising students awareness about recycling, climate protection and biodiversity.

Together with my colleagues from the Association we will organise a few of our own events/ initiatives to clean the area around us, grow plants and involve people in sports activities, placemaking. I will use my own and the Association's media channels to spread focused information related to climate change and environmental protection.

Researcher in coal transitions network and in The DCN Southeast Europe Hub. Effective communication and informed policy-making have never been more crucial in the action on the climate crisis. As an European Climate Pact Ambassador my aim is to develop a network of all the interested stakeholders to transfer the knowledge of the European Green Deal  and increase the capacities for people’s better green well-being through the exchange of best environmental practices/policies.

As ECP Ambassador I will inspire young future generations spreading awareness about our impact in climate change under the idea of environment as our home. I will give talks in public institutions as schools about the importance of environment and biodiversity conservation fields. In order to motivate others I will use my social media to create impact, inform and advise about how we can take action individually. I cook sustainable recipes and support local businesses and international ONG´s.

I am a seconded teacher (biologist) at the European School Brussels III and come from the educational system of Greece.

I am highly specialized in environmental education, while my studies focus on the environment and for 7 years I was the director of the environmental education center in Philippi.

I think that as an educator but also as an environmentalist I can be useful in the effort to raise awareness about climate change.

I am a politician and master of law, working on development programmes in the public sector and commited to nature restoration, reducing energy use, renewables, climate action and learning and teaching others about ESG and other important activities. Climate changes are impacting our lives more than ever and more actions need to be taken as we want improvement of our living conditions in harmony with nature. We must start giving more to nature than we are taking from it. The Climate Pact is important initiative for achieving this. 

As a climate pact ambassador, I would like to create spaces for discourse in the context of the climate crisis. since we are dealing with a complex, unclear, ambiguous global problem with drastic and unfairly distributed consequences, it is important to bring people back into dialogue and joint action. I see art as one way of doing this.

Art is inherently ambiguous and requires personal involvement. It is capable of juxtaposing different perspectives and creating collaborative moments. I would like to use this potential in the field of education to train art teachers for the future who can deal with the ecological crisis in a meaningful way and go into schools as multipliers.

I see my task as an art educator in a holistic education that creates networks and relationships between human beings and with the world through the means of art. 

I enjoy nurturing a change in people's mindset through various mechanisms - contests, social art projects, music, social media. 

I am inspired to continue challenging people to live a creative life, connected to nature and each other.

I will continue educating my audience on sustainability topics and will drive change through my purpose-driven lemonade start-up.

I support and participate in various initiatives that seek to influence today's decisions to stabilise the future of humanity.
