Responsibilities

Former Research Director of the National Research Council (CNR), Head of the Secondary Section and Senior Associate Researcher at the Water Research Institute (IRSA-CNR) of Brugherio (MB), for around 40 years he has been involved in studies on the climate of glacial areas and high and low altitude alpine lakes, of circulation of pollutants in lakes and rivers and for about thirty years of acid rain. From 1989 to 2015 he participated in the construction and management of networks of meteorological monitoring stations in the Himalayas and Karakorum and for over two decades he has dedicated himself to the creation of databases of river and lake water bodies. Since December 2020 he has been Ambassador of the European Climate Pact, and was recently the founder of the EuCliPa.IT APS Association, of which he is currently the secretary. He is the author of over 190 publications, 100 of which in international journals, and conducts editorial review of scientific articles.
