EU Day for the Victims of the Global Climate Crisis

In Europe and around the world, people are increasingly affected by the growing risks that climate change poses to their lives, health, and livelihoods. To honour those who have lost their lives or been impacted by climate-related disasters, the European Union has designated 15 July as the EU Day for the Victims of the Global Climate Crisis – a moment to reflect on the human cost of climate change and the urgent need for action.

While climate change is a global challenge, its consequences are felt locally. That is why the European Climate Pact will be organising joint commemorative activities across multiple EU Member States on 15 July as part of the EU Day for Victims of the Global Climate Crisis

Join one of the following commemorative actions in your country:

Members of the Climate Pact community are hosting events across the EU to mark this day. These actions are open to the public and vary by location.

Join us on 15 July in honouring those affected by the global climate crisis. Whether by attending a local event, lighting a candle, sharing a message, or simply taking a moment to reflect.

These local initiatives aim to give space for reflection, build awareness of climate risks, and inspire action that strengthens resilience – in our cities, our neighbourhoods, and our daily lives.
