On July 15, Europe marks the EU Day for Victims of the Global Climate Crisis. On this day, we reflect on the people affected by climate change and consider how we can better protect our communities in a changing climate. Our eyes are not only on Europe, but also on the Global South. The impact of climate change has been felt there for much longer. In fact, people on other continents have been affected for decades by droughts, floods, and failed harvests—despite having contributed far less to the cause of this crisis. As the Climate Alliance, we take action against climate change together with our partners, with a focus on climate justice.
This campaign is part of this global commemoration, connecting Dutch experiences to the wider European and international movement for climate justice and resilience.
