European Climate Pact Ambassadors inform, inspire and support climate policy and action in their communities and networks. They also connect their networks with others in the European Climate Pact.
To qualify as a Pact Ambassador, you must be a community/organisational leader, or a public servant currently in office. We welcome leaders of local communities, networks, civil society organisations, youth and student initiatives, opinion leaders and influencers, from across Europe. You must also reside in an EU Member State.
If you do not match these criteria, the Pact offers you the possibility to become a ‘Friend of the European Climate Pact’ (more information below).
As of 1 November 2022, the Pact is no longer accepting new Ambassador applicants. We are planning the next selection cycle to start in Q2 2023. Please visit this page to stay informed or subscribe to our Newsletter.
Ambassadors
- Lead by example: showcase your dedication to the fight against climate change, including through climate action and environmental protection.
- Inspire others to take action: encourage citizens, public and private organisations, as well as local, regional, and national governments, to get involved in tackling climate change. Call on relevant stakeholders and policy makers to deploy ambitious measures and mechanisms to accelerate systemic changes.
- Connect with others: network with likeminded individuals, work together with different stakeholders from across Europe, and benefit from updates on EU climate policy and other EU related policies in support of decarbonisation.
Pact Ambassadors act in their personal or in their professional capacity as representatives of a community or organisation, not on behalf of the European Commission.
