Více stromů a zeleně obecně je třeba vysadit především ve městech, protože zelené plochy absorbují nejen emise skleníkových plynů, ale zároveň snižují teplotu během období extrémních veder. Na venkově můžeme výsadbou stromů pomoci nejen v zemědělství. Více zeleně stimuluje například i ekoturistiku.
Vysadit stromy však nestačí. Stromy vyžadují dlouhodobou péči. Proto chceme v rámci Klimatického paktu zajistit podporu místním komunitám, organizacím a občanům, kteří jsou odhodláni zapojit se nejen do výsadby nových stromů, ale následně o ně i pečovat.
V čem pomůže Klimatický pakt?
- Podpoří iniciativy zaměřené na výsadbu nových stromů a péči o ně, a to například prostřednictvím informačních a propagačních kampaní
- Zajistí návaznost těchto iniciativ na stávající zdroje, sítě a platformy
- Bude místním orgánům nabízet řešení k obnově, ochraně a rozšiřování městské zeleně
- Nabídne platformu pro dialog a spolupráci mezi místními komunitami, podniky, vlastníky půdy a místními samosprávami
