Satellite event: Making energy green and fair: a Peer Parliament discussion

Join the Peer Parliament: Making the energy transition green and fair!

How can we ensure an inclusive green energy transition? Which solutions can address energy poverty while switching to cleaner energy sources? Join the European Climate Pact and the Earth Society in the Peer Parliament discussion: Making the energy transition green and fair! Be part of the discussion, share your ideas and vote for your preferred solutions to make the transition fair. As energy plays a crucial role in the green transition and affects everyone, it is essential to make citizens voices heard in the policymaking process to meet energy and climate goals. To engage citizens in energy discussions, the Climate Pact and the Earth Society are hosting this discussion during the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2024 and the 5th Citizen Participation and Deliberative Democracy Festival. Energy experts, Pact Community and policymakers will be invited to join the discussion, facilitate learning and foster participative democracy in energy decisions. Participants can join the networking cocktail that will take place after the event.

About the European Climate Pact:

The European Climate Pact is a movement of people united around a common cause, each taking steps in their own worlds to build a more sustainable Europe. Launched by the European Commission, the Pact is part of the European Green Deal and is helping the EU to meet its goal to become climate-neutral by 2050.

About the Earth Society:

The Earth Society was launched in October 2022 as one of the societies of the ECTA (European Commission Trainees Association. Its main purpose is to encourage trainees from across the EU institutions to take action for our planet, during and after their traineeship. The Earth Society organises all sorts of sustainability-related initiatives and public events, with the aim of amplifying its positive impact outside of the trainee bubble.
