Founded in 2017, Zero Waste Lab (ZWL) is dedicated to promoting the zero waste philosophy as a pathway to systemic and regenerative change. Its mission is to inspire and empower communities, organisations and institutions to reduce waste, lower emissions, and adopt circular and sustainable practices that generate positive social and environmental impact.

ZWL develops a wide range of activities, including community-based zero waste projects, awareness campaigns, educational programmes, capacity-building workshops and green certification schemes. It also implements pilot projects and collaborates on circular economy research and innovation.

The organisation engages a diverse network of stakeholders, including municipalities, schools, universities, social enterprises, companies, non-governmental organisations, grassroots initiatives and European partners. Through this collaboration, ZWL co-creates local solutions in areas such as sport, urban parks, education, research laboratories and toys. Its work connects creativity, science and participation to drive behavioural change and build a low-carbon, regenerative future.
