SNK Association is a Romanian non-profit organisation operating at the intersection of culture, education and sustainability.
Its mission is to create cultural and community spaces that help people become more aware and responsible towards themselves, others and the environment.
The Association develops and delivers educational and cultural programmes that connect philosophy, ecology and civic engagement. Its main initiatives include Seneca Publishing House, Romania’s first green publishing house; Seneca Ecologos Center, which provides environmental education through workshops, camps and training for children, educators and communities; and Seneca Anticafe, a cultural and community hub in Bucharest hosting events on ecology, culture and civic participation.
Through the SNK Scholarships programme, SNK Association supports the social and educational inclusion of Ukrainian refugees by offering language courses and art-therapy workshops, while nurturing a growing community at Seneca Anticafe. SNK Association also supported the first Romanian Language Department in Chernivtsi, Ukraine (at the border with Romania), which opened in September 2015.
The Association works with a diverse network of educators, non-governmental organisations, companies, local communities and public institutions, fostering dialogue and collaboration around sustainability, creativity and shared responsibility.
