Porto Energy Agency (AdEPorto) is a non-profit public association promoting the energy and climate transition across the Porto Metropolitan Area in northern Portugal. It brings together 10 municipalities and over 25 institutional partners from the energy, mobility, waste, water, research and education sectors. Acting as a regional energy and climate agency, it fosters cooperation among local authorities, businesses, academia and civil society to advance a fair, inclusive and sustainable transition.
AdEPorto’s mission is to accelerate the region’s path toward climate neutrality through innovation, partnership and citizen engagement. The agency supports municipalities in developing and implementing Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans and local decarbonisation roadmaps. It provides technical assistance and capacity building, delivers awareness and education programmes in schools and communities, and facilitates research, innovation and pilot projects that promote renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and climate adaptation.
AdEPorto also coordinates the Porto Climate Pact, a multi-stakeholder platform mobilising citizens, academia, companies and associations around local climate action. Through its participation in European networks such as FEDARENE, Energy Cities and the Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy, AdEPorto strengthens cooperation, exchanges knowledge and supports the replication of climate solutions across Europe.
