General Information
The Municipal Company of the Cave of Lakes is the management body of the Cave of Lakes as well as its newly established Environmental Information Center. The scope of the company is to inform the general public regarding the current climate change through the window offered by the paleoclimatic changes the cave has recorded.

Our actions – the Pathway
- Contribute to the reduction of plastic consumption by hosting a site for plastic recycling
- Contribute to the increase of packaging from recycled sources by using recycled paper bags for the souvenirs at the Information Center
- Target the reduction in water pollution by organizing informational campaigns regarding waste waters and how they impact the underground water. Afterall, caves are the outcome of the underground flow of our precious water resources

Energy
Our actions – the Pathway
- Reduce the energy consumption in our premises by energy efficient solutions (i.e. heat pump installation for the central heating and cooling of the Environmental Information Center). In that way we contribute to the reduction of fossil fuel consumption
- Plan the replacement of energy consumption devices with newer more efficient ones
- Recycle used batteries
- Set the first recharging station for electrical vehicles at the premises (parking space) of our company

Our actions – the Pathway
- Set a target to enhance the vegetation cover at the surrounding area of the Environmental Information Center by planting new trees through a small-scale citizen-engagement environmental action. Also, failures from previous planting campaigns will be restored

More about these targets
With the all the aforementioned actions, we will attempt to become a source of motivation for the local community, other organizations and citizens in general. We foresee to become the first environmental information center which will also focus on actions against climate change and not just communicating them.
