Description

The event is going the be organized on 17th September and it will mainly be a critical mass-like bike tour. It will be a multiform event involving both city administration employees and every resident of the city. Tourists are also welcome. The format of this event contributes to awareness raising on sustainable mobility in the context of climate change. The aim of the event is to draw attention on rethinking of one’s habits and role in climate-related issues and promoting behaviour change.
As an annual public event, it has become very popular and it brings together families, groups of friends and work collectives. This year the route will lead to a nature protected area by the Lake Liepāja, called “Zirgu sala” (Horse Island). It is the present and future climate positive territory.
On the Horse Island, the participants will take part in various activities to learn not only about how they can better shift to low-carbon mobility but also to refresh knowledge about safe and respectful behaviour on the road. The respective activities include quiz about climate change workshops led by Nature House educators.
