With over 100 years of expertise, Save the Children is the world’s first independent children's organisation, working in 113 countries to ensure children's rights to health, education, and protection from harm.
In Europe, Save the Children empowers children to understand and advocate for their rights with EU and national decision-makers. The organisation provides psychosocial, educational, and legal support to vulnerable children and families.
A critical aspect of Save the Children's work is addressing the impact of climate change on children's rights. Climate change threatens children's right to survival, health, education, and a safe, sustainable environment, placing them at significant risk. Although children contribute the least to global warming, they suffer its harshest consequences, with approximately 1 billion children worldwide at extreme risk. As such, Save the Children advocates for urgent action to protect the most vulnerable from these escalating climate threats.
