Bialystok University of Technology (BUT) is the largest technical university in the north-east of Poland, which has created solutions and implemented technologies in accordance with the principles of sustainable development for years. In doing so, it emphasises the importance of knowledge transfer to a younger generation of engineers, with a focus on environmental protection. As part of its Development Strategy,BUT initiated the process of implementing the sustainable development strategy under the name “My Green University”. Activities to be implemented until 2035 are designed in response to global challenges such as climate change, air, soil and water pollution, the progressive loss of natural resources and biodiversity.

BUT’s goals include accelerating the transformation of the University towards the education of future-creating engineers, fostering technological development within the limits of the ecosystem capacity, and safeguarding the climate for a healthy environment which ensures a high standard of living for all and guarantees the well-being of society. It strives to teach care for the environment and natural resources and foster greater ecological awareness. By sharing ideas and experiences, the University's model campus aims to become a supra-regional model for society and other organisations starting their transformation towards sustainable development.
