Description
The European Commission’s working group on learning for sustainability offers a number of resources to help schools and teachers embed sustainability in education and school life.
You will find a series of engaging factsheets, each one exploring a key aspect of sustainability in education – from boosting student participation and tackling dis/misinformation, to addressing ecoanxiety and opening pathways towards green careers.
In addition, you can explore the final report, which brings together policy insights, good examples from across Europe and resources to explore further.
If you’re looking to deepen your understanding, the online course on leading sustainability in school education is a free, self-paced learning journey, helping you understand how sustainability can be woven into teaching, leadership and school culture.
Available from January 2026, dive into a new podcast series for inspiring conversations with working group members. In these discussions, you will hear about national experiences, good practices and reflections on the collective effort to advance sustainability in education.
With these resources, the working group supports schools in taking meaningful, practical steps towards integrating sustainability. In doing so, it empowers young people to understand the climate crisis and make informed, responsible choices for their future.
