Making your visit sustainable

Together in Action 2026 is organised in line with sustainable event principles, with the aim of minimising environmental impact before, during and after the event.

The event follows guidelines on:

  • sustainable use of resources
  • low-carbon transport choices
  • waste reduction and sorting
  • responsible energy use

These measures are guided by the 5R principles – refuse, reduce, reuse, repair and recycle. Attendees are encouraged to apply these principles when planning their participation and throughout the event, always aiming to avoid what is unnecessary, reduce their footprint, reuse where possible, and recycle only as a last resort.

Before you attend

  • If you can no longer attend, please cancel your registration in advance to help reduce food waste and allow others the chance to attend.
  • You may also choose to join the event online to further reduce your environmental impact.

During the event

  • Go paperless: Save the programme digitally instead of printing materials.
  • Bring a reusable water bottle: Refill stations will be available.
  • Travel sustainably: Use low-carbon transport. Public transport is strongly recommended.
  • Reduce waste: Use the appropriate recycling bins on site.
  • Be energy-aware: Avoid unnecessary charging of devices or leaving equipment on.
  • Make climate-friendly food choices: Enjoy our climate-friendly menu, with vegetarian, vegan and locally sourced dishes.

After the event

  • Return your lanyard at collection points so it can be reused.
  • Reflect and apply learnings: Use insights from the event to implement sustainable practices at work or in your daily life.
  • Promote sustainability: Share key takeaways on social media or in your networks to encourage climate-friendly actions.
  • Engage in follow-up community actions: Organise a group activity using the Pact tools for citizen engagement. Whether it’s a clean-up, workshop or awareness campaign, it’s your turn to make a difference!
