Can climate action taste good? Join us at the iconic Sparoza Mediterranean Garden for an immersive, hands-on workshop that bridges local biodiversity, climate resilience, and zero-waste everyday habits. Guided by European Climate Pact Ambassadors, participants will explore the historic xeriscape grounds to discover how native Mediterranean flora survives prolonged heatwaves and water scarcity through natural adaptations. Attendees will learn responsible foraging principles (the 1/3 harvesting rule to protect pollinators) and create their own custom botanical blend to take home, following a balanced aroma formula (70% base, 20% character, 10% accent).
We will then step into zero-waste mixology by demonstrating how to craft simple botanical syrups using rosemary and lavender, preparing a refreshing seasonal mocktail while diverting 100% of organic residues straight into the garden’s compost.
The workshop wraps up over glasses of our botanical mocktails with an interactive European Climate Pact quiz and an open roundtable discussion: "What lies behind your cup?" Together, we will deconstruct the hidden lifecycle of daily beverages from irrigation footprint and packaging to food waste and share practical ways to build water-wise, climate-resilient green spaces on our balconies, rooftops, and urban neighborhoods.
