On Friday 25 April at 18.00 a panel discussion will be organised by GIMZ in collaboration with XV Mathematics Gymnasium and its Parents’ Council. The panel is intended for final-year students from mathematical high schools in Zagreb and aims to explore the connection between scientific facts about climate change and the role of mathematics in understanding and addressing its consequences.
A special focus will be placed on raising environmental awareness and highlighting real-world applications of mathematics, technology, and education in the fight against environmental degradation. As climate change and environmental decline are no longer distant threats but urgent realities, this dialogue seeks to empower the next generation to become responsible, informed problem-solvers.
To follow up on the panel, the following day a neighbourhood cleanup is organised in the morning putting our words into action and a swap party will take place at the community centre where the public is invited to bring up to ten articles of clothing and exchange them for items they are more likely to wear reducing textile waste and promoting sustainable and circular economy practices.
