Satellite event: Migrare in montagna: Nuovi scenari nell'epoca della crisi climatica (Migrating to the mountains: New scenarios in the age of climate crisis)

The event proposes an issue that is beginning to be of increasing concern to citizens in northern Italian metropolises due to rising summer heat waves. Migration to mountainous places represents, therefore, a form of climatic adaptation.

Event organized as part of the 11th edition of the Journalism Festival in Ronchi dei Legionari (GO, Italy). At the meeting, moderated by journalist Morena Pinto, Gianni Tartari will present the book "Migrazioni Verticali" of which he is co-editor and author together with Andrea Membretti and Filippo Barbera.

The volume represents the product of the MICLIMI Project, carried out by EuCliPa.IT with a large group of researchers from the Universities of Milan and Turin. Tartari, a former research director at the National Research Council, coordinated the project and is also co-author of the first chapter "MICLIMI: an Italian research in the framework of the European Climate Pact" together with Luciana Favaro, Silvia Di Gennaro and Andrea Membretti himself. During the event, Tartari will engage with Marta Abbà, a journalist and environmental physicist specializing in human, climate and digital rights, on issues of internal migration from metropolitan areas to mountains.
