Satellite event: GREEN AND INNOVATIVE MUNICIPALITIES FOR HEALTHY WELL-BEING

Lately people are paying more attention to their healthy lifestyle: to feel better and live without medication. The time has come also for municipalities to detox and see investments in green heating and sustainable renovation not as challenges, but as opportunities. At the same time, it has to be stressed, that 70% of climate change mitigation and 90% of adaptation initiatives are executed at the municipal level.

During this international seminar co-organised by the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments, the Covenant of Mayor’s Europe and Liepāja city municipality we will inform not only about the different funding possibilities to invest in green and sustainable future of municipalities, but also accompany the introduction on every funding possibility with the testimony of some municipality already acquainted with the specific programme. Thus we believe, that this event will be “double informative” providing not only theory, but also the conclusions and suggestions from the ones having best practice experience.
