The event, open to the public and schools, aims to raise awareness on biodiversity and climate change through a hands-on experience in this unique coastal wetland.
Together with researchers from the University of Florence, you will explore this coastal environment and discover the pollen traps placed in the oasis by the UNIFI-DST Palynology Laboratory (www [dot] laboratorio-palinologiadst [dot] unifi [dot] it (www[dot]laboratorio-palinologia[at]dst[dot]unifi[dot]it)) to monitor current biodiversity. You will also take part in demonstrations of how to collect pollen, sediment and water samples using geological and environmental survey techniques, and have the opportunity to observe pollen, spores and other plant remains under the microscope.
