Satellite event: EU Day for the Victims of the Global Climate Crisis - Commemorative day in Portugal

The initiative involves painting a public mural in tribute to the victims of the Pedrógão Grande wildfires (66 deaths), followed by an open public debate on climate change and its consequences. We aim to unite local civil society organizations, the municipality, and local artists and activists.

A press release will be issued to attract media coverage and TV's. Social Media Campaign will be created to promote the event and to share its results.

The Mural will be public on the day of the event - and the public will be able to collaborate with the final touches. It will take place in Leiria, the city closest to the site of the tragedy. The mural will be a permanent tribute to the tragedy, reminding everyone of the urgent need for action on climate change.
