The EU-funded SHARE4MED Project will bring together representatives of municipalities and local authorities from Tunisia, Italy, Spain, Egypt, Libya, and Algeria in Bizerte for the first time. The workshop will provide a collaborative platform for participants to exchange experiences and jointly develop the tools, methodologies, and indicators needed to support local decision-makers in guiding the ecological transition of Mediterranean coastal areas by 2027.
SHARE4MED aims to equip coastal communities, including smaller municipalities with limited resources, with a shared framework for ecological transition and coastal resilience. Central to this ambition is the development of a common transition agenda and an innovative digital governance dashboard designed to support evidence-based decision-making, monitoring, and planning.
Moderated by the Climate Ambassador and the Secretariat of the Coalition of Mayors for Mission Ocean, the workshop will also serve as a strategic milestone in the establishment of a broader Mediterranean Cities Coalition. Participants will work together to define priorities, identify areas for cooperation, and lay the foundations for a long-term network of Mediterranean cities contributing to the implementation of the Mediterranean Pact.
