Open Day at Natural Farm Shizen - The importance of soil regeneration

The Open Day at Natural Farm Shizen is a one-day community event scheduled for 2 May 2026 at the practical hub of the Natural Farming Center APS in central Italy. 

The event is designed as an open and participatory experience combining ecological learning, farm exploration, and collective reflection. The format of the event is both experiential and educational. 

The day begins at 10:00 with a welcome meeting at the farm, followed at 10:30 by a guided and in-depth tour of the farm led by Kutluhan, offering participants direct insight into natural farming practices, soil regeneration methods, and the overall ecosystem of the farm. At 12:30, participants share a communal lunch, where everyone is invited to contribute food, fostering a sense of community and exchange. In the afternoon, at 14:30, there is a thematic session dedicated to the importance of soil regeneration. This part of the programme focuses on raising awareness about soil health, its ecological role, and the need for regenerative practices to restore degraded land and strengthen environmental resilience. The session combines educational content with open dialogue, encouraging participants to reflect on their relationship with soil and nature. From 17:00 onwards, a smaller group of participants is invited to join the first of a series of “evolutionary meetings” planned at Shizen throughout 2026.

These sessions provide a facilitated space for personal sharing, deep listening, and mutual respect, where group dynamics are used as a tool to explore individual development and personal growth. 

The main objectives of the event are to promote soil literacy, encourage community engagement with regenerative agriculture, and create a space for both ecological and personal reflection in connection with nature and collective experience.
