Let's stop fossil advertisement!

As part of the 28th edition of the SUQ Festival in Genoa, this panel discussion will explore the growing international movement to restrict fossil fuel advertising and other forms of promotion for highly polluting products. Drawing parallels with the successful regulation of tobacco advertising, the session will examine how limiting public exposure to such messages can support environmental protection, public health, and informed consumer choices.

Bringing together representatives from local government, the medical and environmental sectors, and ethical finance, the discussion will highlight the experiences of more than 60 cities worldwide - including Florence, Monza, and Genoa - that have already introduced measures to restrict fossil fuel advertising. The panel will offer insights into the role of cities in driving climate action and fostering a more sustainable future.
