This online webinar will take place on April 28 (17:00–19:00 CET) and will mark the launch of the 2026 Lancet Countdown European Report, with a specific focus on Portugal.
The event is organised by CPSA in partnership with the Lancet Countdown and the European Climate Pact. It will be held in a panel discussion format, bringing together national and international experts from the fields of climate change, public health, and policy.
The session will include expert presentations followed by a moderated discussion. The main topics will include the health impacts of climate change in Portugal, progress and gaps identified in the Lancet Countdown report, and the role of public policies and health systems in responding to the climate crisis.
The discussion will also highlight best practices and explore opportunities for strengthening climate-resilient health systems.
The objectives of the event are to raise awareness of the links between climate change and health, disseminate up-to-date scientific evidence, and foster dialogue between citizens, professionals, and policymakers. It also aims to encourage individual and collective action aligned with European climate goals and to support more effective and integrated policy responses.
The panel will feature José Chen, Paulo Nicola, Ana Cristina Carrola, and Joana Vidal Castro, and will be moderated by Margarida Alho.
