The “Free-from Weekend” at the Szentendre Skanzen Village Museum focuses on sustainable and environmentally conscious living. It explores how traditional rural knowledge and practices can inspire more sustainable choices in our everyday lives. Visitors can discover practical ways to reduce waste, avoid unnecessary consumption, and make better use of natural resources.
The weekend offers a range of interactive, hands-on, and family-friendly activities for all ages. It is an opportunity to connect traditional knowledge with contemporary approaches to sustainability and climate awareness. Participants can discover our CPact exhibition, will have the opportunity to complete a quiz on sustainable gardening, draw their own ecological footprint, and engage in informal discussions on sustainability and environmentally conscious practices.
A creative workshop will be hold on turning waste into something useful, where participants can craft with old T-shirts.
Visitors will also learn practical mulching techniques and, as part of our plant rescue initiative, have the opportunity to adopt rescued plants.
