As part of Climate Victims Day, this campaign aims to draw attention to the growing impacts of drought and heatwaves, two of the most significant climate-related challenges affecting Hungary. The programme in Budapest will include a collective mulching activity, a film screening, and a climate discussion led by Climate Ambassador Péter Rózsahegyi.
The initiative contributes to wider European efforts to address climate change by promoting local climate adaptation measures, with a particular focus on strengthening resilience to drought and advancing nature-based solutions. Through practical action and community dialogue, the campaign seeks to raise awareness of the vital role that plants, trees, and urban green spaces play in water retention, reducing heat stress, and improving the resilience of cities to the effects of a changing climate.
