On the EU Day for the victims of the global climate crisis, a photo exhibition will be held to discuss and reflect together on climate change disasters. This date commemorates one of the deadliest days of the floods in Belgium and Germany in 2021. This photo exhibition brings the stories behind the statistics to life.

We invite people to pause and reflect on the causes and solutions of climate change. In 2023, Greece was struck by a series of devastating natural disasters. The Greek photographer Illir Tsousor and Anja Troelenberg traveled to the affected sites months after the disasters. For Climate Victims Day we show part of their exhibition “Beyond Destruction”. Secondly, the Italian Pact Ambassador Simone Padovani works as a Getty Images contributor and collaborates with National Geographic as well as other international magazines.

For Climate Victims Day he shares a selection of his work on Italian climate disasters, including Venetian Floods, avalanches in the Alps, and heatwaves. Other photographers and artists will contribute to this commemorative moment.
