This online event will delve into the role of youth in shaping climate policy and leading the way to COP30.  

The session will follow on from the youth climate leadership fundamentals webinar, taking a deeper dive into the topic of youth climate leadership as part of a new feature of our EU Climate Action Academy series.

  • a young person involved in climate action who wants to make a bigger impact;
  • a youth leader in search of fresh strategies and inspiration;

Meet the speakers

Speakers - EU Climate Action Academy deep dive: Youth leading the way to COP30

We’re proud to introduce two leading young Pact Ambassadors who will share front-row insights from global climate summits and tips on how to get involved.

Léa Weimann

Léa Weimann is an EU Climate Pact Ambassador and a specialist in environmental and climate change law. She is pursuing a PhD at the University of Cambridge, focusing on eco-centric trends in environmental law. Léa is a member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law and founded the newsletter ‘Legal Wednesday’. She co-leads Youth for Ecocide Law, advocating for the criminalisation of mass environmental destruction. Her experience includes participation in major climate conferences such as Stockholm+50, COP27, COP28, and the 2025 UN Ocean Conference.

Samira Ben Ali

Samira Ben Ali is a committed climate justice advocate and currently serves as the EESC Youth Delegate to COP for 2025 and 2026. She holds academic degrees in International Environmental Law and Political Science. Samira leads global campaigns for the World’s Youth for Climate Justice and supports ocean initiatives at Youth and Environment Europe. She is also an EU Climate Pact Ambassador and represents Mayotte in the French Youth Parliament on Water. Additionally, she contributes to the IUCN Youth Advisory Committee.
