This Earth Day climate walk in Mogoșoaia Forest is organized by Pur și Simplu Verde in partnership with the SNSPA Center for Leadership and Innovation. It brings together the practical, community-focused approach of an environmental NGO with the policy and leadership perspective of an academic institution.
The main goal of the walk is to make climate change tangible by connecting it to a real, local environment. Instead of abstract discussions, participants engage directly with what they see around them, biodiversity, green space management, and environmental pressures near Bucharest. The walk also aims to foster genuine citizen engagement, encouraging participants to ask questions, share observations, and reflect on their own role in addressing climate challenges. Importantly, this event is part of a broader climate awareness initiative.
The walk marks the starting point of a week-long series designed to move beyond awareness toward action. It culminates in a Peer Parliament on April 28, where ideas and reflections from the walk can be developed into concrete discussions and proposals.
The overall approach is to guide participants from direct experience to collective reflection and, ultimately, to more active involvement in climate-related decision-making.
