Debunking Climate Myths – Facts Instead of Fake News

How can we separate climate facts from myths in a world full of misinformation? Join this interactive workshop to uncover common climate misconceptions, strengthen your media literacy, and learn how to respond to disinformation with confidence.

Training and workshops

Whether on TikTok or at a family gathering - many young people come across statements like “We used to have hot summers back in the day” or “Germany can’t make a difference anyway.” In this workshop, we’ll take a closer look at the most common climate myths and examine what’s really behind them. Through quizzes, group exercises, and discussions, participants will learn to recognize disinformation and respond to it confidently. We’ll also create our own fact-based content on climate protection and climate justice.

The workshop is open to anyone who wants to learn more about climate change, disinformation, and how to address delaying tactics. The focus is on exchange, teamwork, and the joy of thinking critically. Students will also strengthen their media literacy and confidence in discussions. The workshop is led by Maximilian Arnhold, a freelance journalist and education consultant.
