At the 2025 Covenant of Mayors Ceremony, local, regional and EU leaders will gather in Brussels at a decisive moment for Europe: ten years after the adoption of the Paris Agreement – the world’s first legally binding treaty on tackling climate change – and one year into a new European Commission mandate.
The focus? Bringing local and regional governments together to build a stronger, more independent and better prepared Europe.
What’s more, the Climate Pact community will be right at the heart of the conversation, with Ambassadors Kata Tüttő and Rafał Trzaskowski speaking alongside other European climate leaders.
The ceremony will highlight how European towns, cities and regions are helping to secure Europe’s future in the face of unprecedented challenges – from geopolitical instability to increased climate change hazards – including how they are:
- phasing out fossil fuels and powering homes with local renewables;
- protecting communities from floods, heatwaves and other climate risks;
- leading the way on decarbonising heating and cooling;
- working hand in hand with the EU to build a secure, resilient and climate-neutral Europe.
You can also drop by the Climate Pact stand, where you can explore the work of our community.
