Climate Action Weekend in Livadi Arachova - Greece

The Climate Action Weekend will take place in Livadi Arachova, Greece, from September 12 to 14, 2026, alongside the Enduro Greek Series Rockatreellity Race. It will be organized by a European Climate Pact Ambassador in partnership with the local volunteer group Friends & Volunteers of Livadi and the race organizers.

The event will combine practical environmental action, community volunteering and public awareness activities. It will include three main components:

1. Community clean-up: On September 12 at 17:30, volunteers will clean the main road through Livadi Parnassos, focusing on the area around Wheelhouse, where the enduro race activities will be based. Members of Friends & Volunteers of Livadi will participate, and race participants, visitors and local residents will be invited to join.
2. European Climate Pact information point: For two days, a dedicated tent staffed by one or more Climate Pact Ambassadors will provide information about the European Climate Pact, local climate action and opportunities for citizens to become involved. The information point will feature a Climate Pact banner, signs and informational materials and will encourage informal discussion with athletes, visitors and residents. Games for kids will also run through the weekend.
3. Post-race mountain clean-up: Following the race, a Climate Pact Ambassador will join the enduro organizing team in cleaning the mountain trails and surrounding areas used during the event. 

The main topics will be environmental volunteering, litter and waste reduction, protection of mountain ecosystems, responsible outdoor recreation and more sustainable sports tourism. The objectives are to engage residents and visitors in visible, practical climate and environmental action; introduce new audiences to the European Climate Pact; encourage race participants to take responsibility for the natural environment in which outdoor sports take place; and strengthen cooperation among Climate Pact Ambassadors, local volunteers, event organizers and the wider community. 

The activities will be promoted through social media posts and announcements during the race, including invitations for participants and visitors to join the clean-ups and visit the Climate Pact information point. *Mountain bike enduro is an exciting race format in which riders tackle timed downhill stages linked by untimed uphill sections, combining speed, technical skill and endurance. 

The Enduro Greek Series has been running in Greece since 2018, and this year’s event will bring together 300 direct participants from Greece, across Europe and around the world.
