On the occasion of the International Day of Zero Waste, observed by the United Nations on 30 March, this hands-on workshop invites the local community to explore practical reuse solutions.
Participants will transform old T-shirts into reusable book bags without sewing. The bags can be used to carry books and other everyday items, promoting waste prevention through creativity and practical action.
The workshop will take place in person at Belém Library (Lisbon) and is open to the general public, including adults, young people and families.
Participants are asked to bring one old T-shirt. This accessible and interactive activity aims to raise awareness about resource conservation, waste prevention and circular economy principles by demonstrating how simple actions — such as reusing and repurposing textiles — can reduce waste and extend the life cycle of materials.
The event is free of charge upon prior registration: bib [dot] belem
