Climate Action Days: Green Leaf City Vaasa 2026 Award ceremonies

You are warmly invited to join a rich programme of events in Vaasa, European Green Leaf 2026, from 18th to 20th March 2026, in the framework of the annual Vaasa’s EnergyWeek bringing together sustainability enthusiasts from around the world to share knowledge, explore inspiring cases, expand networks, and spark new business opportunities) and the European Green Leaf official Opening.

In particular, the programme is composed of three main moments: On Wednesday 18th March afternoon, members of the EGCL network are invited to exclusive site visits, to Wärtsilä Sustainable Technology Hub and WestEnergy, followed by a Finnish sauna and ice swimming experience at the UNESCO Kvarken Archipelago.

On Thursday 19th March, the Urban Energy Transition Day showcases the official international opening of Vaasa Green Leaf Year 2026, and best-practice urban examples and insights from European Commission experts and academia. On Friday 20th March morning, the European Green Capital and European Green Leaf Network Meeting, with guests from the Covenant of Mayors Secretariat, will be held aboard M/S Aurora Botnia (staying at the harbour), concluding at before noon for afternoon departures.

To ensure participation from the network, the EGCL Secretariat can reimburse travel and accommodation costs for one representative per Municipality that is member of the EGCL network, for a total of max. €950 per Municipality.
