The 4th International Conference on Economics of Climate Change, organised by the Centre for Economics of Climate Change at the University of Economics in Katowice, will focus on the role of higher education in advancing climate action.
The conference will present key results and lessons from the REACCT – Reflecting Economics and Climate Change in Teaching project and explore how climate change can be more effectively integrated into university education. The programme will combine expert presentations, interactive sessions, practical activities, debate and networking. It will address topics including climate-related curriculum development, green and transversal skills, inclusive climate education, and the role of universities in supporting the green transition.
Participants will have opportunities to exchange experiences and explore practical approaches that can be applied in their own teaching and institutions. Interactive formats will include the Climate Game Lounge, an educator-focused co-design lab, and the Climate Moods Debate, complemented by networking and informal discussion sessions.
The conference is aimed primarily at higher education educators, academics, curriculum designers, researchers and students. It will provide a space for participants to share practices, discuss challenges and identify approaches for strengthening climate education and preparing students to contribute to a climate-neutral future.
