An entire career as an economic and environmental historian made me aware that strengthening the interaction between Academia and society is key to act on climate change. As President of Leonardo-IRTA, Research Institute of the environment and territories, I intend to fulfil my mission as Climate Pact Ambassador by signalling the climate added value of our projects on all occasions in which citizens and local to national institutions are involved (meetings, publications, online platforms).

My scientific responsibility to the whole society are articulated in our Plea. In this sense my activities for facing climate crisis are directed towards the renewal of the broken connections between the general public and science.

As a citizen, I owe to all subsequent generations a carefree future and a sustainable world. Therefore, I support the growing youth climate movement.

As a scientific fact, climate change needs all-pervasive climate action. I place my role in this context.

My activities will focus on supporting and engaging individuals and institutions for transformative action. As a coach under Climate KIC Pioneers in Practice and Climathon manager, I will engage and activate individuals on the local level. Through my activities in national and supranational policy and NGO networks, I will advocate for transition to climate neutrality, local actions for biodiversity and for greening of the cities.I will help to expand climate initiatives to transform the cities.

El cambio climatico es un problema que nos afecta a todos y a todos los niveles, es por ello que debemos actuar rapidamente.

Un sector de vital importancia es el sector agricola, donde los efectos repercuten directamente por cambios en la fenologia de cultivos y en el bienestar animal. 

A su vez participan en el problema y como posible solución al actuar como sumideros de CO2, uno de los principales gases de efecto invernadero.

Es por todo ello que es necesario la concienciacion en este sector.

One sector of vital importance is the agricultural sector, where the effects have a direct impact on crop phenology and animal welfare.

Hi, I'm Katharina. As a Climate Pact Ambassador I will implement and support several local activities in Darmstadt (where I live) together with a local citizens group to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions to zero until 2030. On the other hand I will continue my work as part of the social media team of Parents for future Germany and will inform people (using our network) about the climate crisis and about possibilities and necessities to prevent this crisis. My motivation? My two children.

I wish to coordinate actions to achieve sustainability on different projects and unlock new markets and attract business partners.

I want to be the source for innovation for new sustainable products or services.

At the same time, I will protect, respect and fulfil human rights in addition animal cruelty will be avided.

I am a landscape architect and an academic from Bucharest interested in green infrastructure strategies and bioclimatic planning and design. As a Climate Pact Ambassador I would like to share and exchange knowledge concerning the role of green areas and urban biodiversity in climate change mitigation and adaptation in order to persuade public authorities, organizations and businesses to initiate climate action and pledges.

Full professor of Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Public Health at UCSC in Rome. Always involved in global health projects, just signed a collaboration agreement with Unesco Biosphere Reserve of Monte Peglia to carry out scientific research projects aimed at protecting human and planetary health. We will focus on the important correlations between environmental and human health, such as the consequences of pollution, climate changes, unsustainable eating patterns on the health of populations.

For all lives on our planet it is imperative that humans put an end to global warming. No single person will make this happen, so we should all become a climate ambassador to some extent. Thus as a Dutch life sciences student with passion for politics, I didn't hesitate joining the Climate pact as soon as friends advised me to do so. I'm eager to help by advocating for more nuclear energy, an efficient EU train network and the reduction of meat production. Now as a student, one day as politician.

As president of Maramureș County Council, Romania, I represent a region with more than 50% mountain areas and in which climate changes have a major impact in fields like economy, tourism, nature protection or people’s everyday life. 

As a Climate Pact Ambassador, I will focus on protecting our livelihoods and our communities against climate change, engaging in regional raising public awareness and organising activities related to climate and environmental actions.

Carlos is a sustainability enthusiast and a climate change advocate. He strives to contribute to climate dialogues and negotiations to implement highly ambitious goals. He was shocked when he first read an IPCC report and felt responsible to make a change.

Making use of several roles in these fields, Carlos wants to connect and empower people, focusing on those communities where he lives, the United Kingdom and Spain, to not only share ideas but to bring them to reality.

During my mission, I would like to draw attention to the vulnerability of Lake Balaton and other large lakes and their functional areas in Europe. As the Mayor of Balatonfüred and Chairman of the Lake Balaton Development Council, I am committed to improve climate awareness. By taking sustainability aspects into account, we can all do so much to protect our environment. The implementation of measures often does not require significant financial resources, just a different way of thinking is needed.

I'm Rada Boneva, also known as Thrift Sheep. I've created my blog thriftsheep.com back in 2017 as a mission to promote secondhand shopping and vintage treasure hunting, but a few months later I decided to take the path of the zerowaste journey. Since then, I have been sharing my experience and knowledge on environmentalism, climate issues, biodevisity and eco mindfullness for individuals. In 2019 was born ThrftSheep Podcast - a stricly thematic podcast in Bulgarian language with wide range of experts.

As president of Harghita County Council, Romania, I represent a region in which environmental and agricultural subjects are always present in our public dialogue. Being a mountainous and rural area, the economy, tourism, nature protection, biocultural diversity all depend on the climate changes. As member of the ENVE Commission of the CoR, and CoR Ambassador of Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy I will assume the steps needed to be in the benefit of our local and regional communities.

My main motivation with Earth-pop duo Berne is to inspire better care for the planet through music and lifestyle.

We bring to the surface current issues of the climate emergency, climate justice, and animal rights, and show that together we can make a real difference.

Through audio-visual experiences, we develop thought-provoking ways to raise climate change awareness. We make individual action more accessible through our sustainable club, as well as encourage involvement in systemic change.

My main motivation is to raise awareness among Polish people who are not much profoundly informed about climate risks by government and media.

I would like to kindly but surely push polish companies into sustainable practices and trends as soon as possible. 

I also work for the Polish educational portal called "Ekowyborca" which provides followers with so called ecopolitics data - on national and international level.  

I am a young European woman with a firm belief in the values of democracy, equality, and dialogue. I'm inspired by action and I act to inspire!

In my fight against the most urgent challenge, the climate crisis, I try to put the people and their needs first. As an EU Climate Pact Ambassador I wish to focus on just transition, climate education, awareness raising, and public participation.
