Regine Günther
Senatsverwaltung für Umwelt, Verkehr und Klimaschutz, Berlin
Berlin has already successfully taken action to tackle climate change and is one of the most climate-friendly cities in Germany. Compared to the year 1990, emissions of Carbon dioxide - the main greenhouse gas in the City - have already been cut by about one third. That encourages Berlin to aim for an even more significant contribution and to become climate neutral by 2050. In order to reach that goal, Berlin declared "Climate Emergency" in 2019 and takes action for a mobility transformation.
