Urban Innovative Actions

Urban Innovative Actions (UIA) is an Initiative of the European Union that provides urban areas throughout Europe with resources to test new and unproven solutions to address urban challenges.

UIA is a support mechanism targeting urban authorities with ground-breaking ideas to tackle local challenges by providing funding, knowledge production and dissemination. The initiative aims to foster cross-stakeholder collaboration to overcome design and implementation barriers.

The website includes a “Knowledge Lab” with best practices and case studies from previously funded projects, as well as eligibility criteria for projects:

  • innovative,
  • participative,
  • of good quality,
  • measurable,
  • transferable.

Calls for applications and information regarding upcoming rounds for funding are also published there.
