Generation Climate Europe published this policy paper on Greenwashing in the Fashion industry to raise awareness and empower consumers in their purchase decisions, by shedding light on the adverse impacts caused by the fashion industry and providing examples of empty green claims.
For instance, clothing companies promote in-store take-back programs which incentivises guilt free consumption but does not propose a viable solution.
The paper focuses on the circularity in the fashion industry and on the climate impact and environmental impact of the fashion industry.
Climate Pact Ambassador Suzanne Groenewoud has contributed to this paper by doing research on Climate Claims and integrating the results.
