The Europeans: Fleeing Climate Change

The Europeans is an award-winning podcast looking at politics and culture around the continent.The podcast is hosted by Katy Lee, a journalist based in Paris, and Dominic Kraemer, an opera singer living in Amsterdam.

This episode focuses on the growing number of people having to flee their homes as a result of climate change. It aims to answer what role Europe has to play in terms of finding solutions for displaced population.

To discuss this matter, two specialists of international migration have been interviewed and have shared their expertise: Alexandre Porteret of the European Commission’s Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations department (ECHO), and François Gemenne of the Hugo Laboratory, the world’s first interdisciplinary research center focusing on how climate change impacts migration.
