Responsibilities
I have been a registered nurse since 1984, with a master’s degree in nursing science, a Master degree in Statistics, a PhD degree from the Kings College University of London, and holding an Adjunct Professorship since 2018 at the John Hopkins University in Baltimore (US). Since 2002 I have been the Secretary General of the European Federation of Nurses Associations (EFN), providing a broad platform for developing health & social EU policy by supporting the EU decision making processes on all areas affecting the nursing profession, including climate. My EU lobby activities relate to the promotion & protection of nurses & the nursing profession with particular reference to the EU political agenda, especially the EU Social Pillar priorities. As an Ambassador, I can bring in and share my expertise and the views of 3 million nurses from 35 EU countries. My connections at EU, national, regional and local levels make it easy to reach nurses, EU stakeholders, policymakers, to enrich the process.
