Climate action: there’s a lot of talk about it, but what can you do to actually make a difference? Which changes can we all make in the worlds we inhabit – whether that’s at home, at school, at work or in our community – to collectively have an impact? How can we inspire our friends and colleagues to do the same?
To get concrete answers to these questions, join the Climate Pact Day of Action on 29 June.
Organised by the European Commission, this one-day digital event will raise awareness of the growing Climate Pact movement and all that it has to offer. From sharing uplifting stories and making concrete pledges, to connecting people with climate action taking place in their country, 29 June is about transforming inspiring climate talk into committed climate action.
The event will show that by taking action in our own worlds, everyone has a part to play in building a greener tomorrow. It will bring together politicians, policymakers, celebrities, Ambassadors, influencers, and citizens from across Europe and beyond.
On the agenda are speakers from climate experts to grassroots change-makers. Participants will also be able to pose their climate questions to the European Commission’s Executive Vice-President responsible for the European Green Deal, Frans Timmermans, in an interactive Q&A session.
Record-setting action
The Day of Action will feature live climate action pledges from celebrities, Ambassadors and citizens who want to protect what they love and show that by combining the might of small actions, we can all make a difference to our planet.
Each pledge will also count towards a global attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the greatest number of climate pledges recorded in a month – a total of 141 000 pledges are needed between mid-June and mid-July to achieve this aim.
How can I take part?
Committed to making a difference? Then sign up for the Climate Pact Day of Action. The main event will be followed by Climate Pact launches in different EU countries, looking at how the Pact movement can build on climate action already taking place near you.
Young people can also join a workshop kicking off the Youth Climate Pact Challenge, which will bring together participants aged 15-30 from across Europe to connect and co-create innovative youth engagement project ideas in the field of climate action.
The Climate Pact is all about action, so why not consider pledging to take action yourself, either as an individual or as an organisation or group. You can also become a Climate Pact Ambassador to share your story and inspire others to do the same.
