This EU merged side event to COP 26, aims at showcasing tourism and circular economy implementation as a driver of sustainable development towards climate neutrality, building European inter-sectoral clusters among tourism stakeholders, using examples from sustainable mobility, biodiversity & protected areas. The main challenge will be to identify possible solutions for sustainable tourism and mobility such as investing in more climate friendly travels tools and certification tourism clusters schemes.
Mirabilia Network of Italian chambers of commerce has been selected by the European Commission DG CLIMA, for the organization of a European Union side event at COP26.
Mirabilia is leading the 1-hour session (including Caserta panel) in collaboration with other organizations involved for Glasgowpanel (TravelGreen Planet 2030, SunX reg.&climate champions),and for Poggibonsi panel (Municipality, Florence City, Siena Province), aiming at showcasing tourism and circular economy implementation as a driver of sustainable development towards climate neutrality, building European inter-sectoral clusters among tourism stakeholders, using examples from sustainable mobility, biodiversity & protected areas

Signature of Glasgow Declarationon Climate action in tourism, promoted by ONE PLANET network, in the framewok of sustainable tourism programme, to show up the public-private political and operational engagement to:
- Support the global commitment to at least halve emissions by 2030 and reach Net Zero as soon as possible before 2050.
- Deliver climate action plans within 12 months from becoming a signatory (or updating existing plans) and implementing them.
- Report publicly on an annual basis on progress against targets and actions.
- Align with 5 pathways: measure, decarbonize, regenerate, collaborate, finance.
- Work in a collaborative spirit, share good practices and solutions, and disseminate information
