Description

Together with the students of Bucerius Law School and the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius, Hamburg Climate Week invites you to the digital event series "Future Dialogues".
(Freight) shipping is one of the biggest emitters in the transport sector. As there are hardly any alternatives for freight routes across the world's oceans, a rethink is now taking place in the shipping sector towards fewer emissions. Driven by the increasingly strict requirements of the UN's International Maritime Organization, scientific and technical development is progressing in large shipping companies and small start-ups. Can the shipping industry succeed in becoming the "green beacon" of international trade in goods? What can creative solutions look like?
Speakers:
- Stephan Gollasch, Founder of GoConsult and advisor to the Ministry of Transport for the Maritime Environmental Protection Committee of the International Maritime Organization.
- Pierre C. Sames, Senior Vice President, Group Technology and Research Director, DNV GL Otto Schacht, Executive Vice President Sea Logistics, Kühne und Nagel
