Description

The event will present the ambassadors, who are representatives of the Spanish economy, civil society, science, energy, education or local administration with a firm commitment to fight against climate change. During the presentation, they will contribute their vision and proposals on the climate challenges facing the European Union in the coming years in order to contribute to the debate on the future of Europe.

10:00 - Introduction by Mrs. María Ángeles Benítez Salas, Director of the European Commission Representation in Spain.
10:10 - "Assessment of COP26: success or failure?" Representative of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge of the Government of Spain
10.45 - Debate
11:00 - "The European Climate Pact" by Ms. Katarina Fortun from the Directorate General for action by DG CLIMA of the European Commission.
11:30 - Break
11:45 - The European Climate Pact from the perspective of the Spanish ambassadors. Recommendations and proposals of the ambassadors for the Conference on the Future of Europe
12:30 - Debate and brainstorming on possible future proposals for the European Union on climate change.
