The European Commission has adopted a package of proposals to shape EU climate, energy, land use, transport and fiscal policies to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% from 1990 levels by 2030. While there are costs associated with this transition, the medium- to long-term benefits far outweigh them. A socially just transition is one of the key objectives of the "Fit for 55" package. The package and its social implications, referred to by the EU Commission as "Leave no one behind," are the topic of this online event.
Four highly competent speakers from business, science and the EU Commission will debate the topic and explain it together with the audience.

Die Europäische Kommission hat ein Paket an Vorschlägen verabschiedet, um die Klima-, Energie-, Landnutzungs-, Verkehrs- und Steuerpolitik der EU so zu gestalten, dass die Netto-Treibhausgasemissionen bis 2030 um mindestens 55 % gegenüber dem Stand von 1990 gesenkt werden. Dieser Übergang ist zwar mit Kosten verbunden, die mittel- bis langfristigen Vorteile sind jedoch weitaus größer als diese. Ein sozial gerechter Übergang ist eines der wichtigsten Ziele des "Fit for 55"-Pakets. Das Paket und seine sozialen Auswirkungen, von der EU-Kommission als „Leave no one behind“ („Niemanden zurücklassen“) bezeichnet, sind das Thema dieser Online-Veranstaltung.
Vier hochkompetente Referent*innen aus Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und der EU-Kommission werden die Thematik debattieren und zusammen mit den Zuhörer*innen erläutern.
