Description

Climate change, although globally threating to the human population and biocenosis, yet has some positive sides if the unity achieved through the Green Deal (GD) can be named so. European GD envisages Europe as the first climate-neutral continent while strengthening its economy, taking care of and improving its citizens’ health. The GD insists on the care for nature and a clear view that no one should be left out and left behind. It is difficult to prioritize among many present-day challenges and many health threats. GD strongly confirms the path to be navigated.
What is the role of health professionals and what is the possible contribution of public health? Public health professionals should persuade their colleagues in clinical medicine of the importance of all the issues covered by the GD. Also, public health professionals is targeting the broader population activities related to environmental monitoring and assessment of the impact on health. The continuous intensification of factors that enable environmental conservation, including the urban environment, with the ultimate goal of preserving and improving the health and quality of life is being insisted on.
