Satellite event: Climate action for all Europeans: Triggering citizen engagement

Activating European citizens is at the heart of the European Climate Pact. Our mini-conference investigates in ways to activate young people by developing staged climate challenges. Three Climate Pact ambassadors will reflect on their experiences in engaging people and move from footprint to handprint action. The event will launch the HfWU climate challenges for university students, as developed by a student group. The conference is supported by the German Representation of the European Commission, Europe Direct Stuttgart and Scientists for Future.

Die Aktivierung und Motivierung europäischer Bürgerinnen und Bürger ist zentrales Anliegen des Europäischen Klimapakts. Unser Workshop diskutiert Möglichkeiten, insbesondere junge Europäerinnen und Europäer zu aktivieren, indem sie Klimachallenges ausprobieren. Im Rahmen der Veranstaltung diskutieren drei Klimapaktbotschafter über ihre Erfahrungen, Menschen zu aktivem Klimaverhalten zu motivieren. Eine Gruppe Studierender wird die von ihnen entwickelten HfWU-Klimachallenges präsentieren, anhand derer speziell Studierende zu mehr Klimaschutz motiviert werden sollen.
